From a functionality standpoint, I give 5 stars. However the price point , $15 USD for the strap + $16 USD for the transport box, is pretty steep. Especially since the products don't have the same premium feel as the Display Cases themselves. For an all-in price of $26 + tax & shipping, I expect better.
Again, these work just find and it's very easy to just buy them rather than DIY, but if you have the time and know-how, a DIY solution will certainly cost less and be about the same in terms of quality.
These work great and are strong enough to hold larger vehicles too! I would absolutely take these over the layout layers which can only support specific base sizes. These sheets provide way more flexibility in terms of fitting the maximum models into your case.
I don't know about far better than Layout Layers...maybe kind of better, or somewhat better. They are pretty cool though. Able to place your models anywhere you want, and that satisfying little snap you feel when you place your magnetized mini down...oooh so satisifying! Huh, maybe they are far better!! Just don't tell Big Red!
The super clear acrylic is noticeably clearer than the older stuff. I'm surprised at how easy it is to see the difference. I mainly use my Crystal Fortress stuff to transport my warhammer models rather than display, but these newer cases would absolutely be better for display purposes, and they are just as effective at transport.
How rare is it to find an upgrade that costs _less_ than the origianl?

I typically get my magnets from another site, but these ones work very good with the iron sheets and the circle sheet disk magents as well. They are very strong so I recommend them for the bases and not actual models.
Nice cut sheet magnets that are great for clear cases. The have sticky backs that work very well and do not peel up from the opposing connections.
